Adragna Petfood and OIPA Alcamo Join Forces to Raise Awareness About Stray Animals. “Adopt a Four-Legged Friend” Project Presented at “Nino Navarra” Middle School in Alcamo
Alcamo, April 28, 2025 – A day dedicated to education, empathy, and love for animals took place at “Nino Navarra” Middle School in Alcamo, thanks to the collaboration between Adragna Petfood, a historic Sicilian company specializing in pet food, and the Alcamo section of OIPA (International Organization for Animal Protection).
The event engaged first-year middle school students in a passionate and participatory dialogue on the issue of stray animals, a particularly pressing problem in the Sicilian provinces. During the event, Adragna Petfood shared its company history and highlighted the commitment of the Naxos brand, which has always been attentive to the needs of less fortunate animals.
It was also the perfect opportunity to present the new charitable project “Adopt a Four-Legged Friend”, promoted in collaboration with OIPA Alcamo. The initiative offers tangible support for responsible adoptions: a free one-year supply of Naxos pet food will be donated to 15 families in the provinces of Trapani and Palermo who, during 2025, choose to welcome into their homes a dog currently housed at the Alcamo municipal shelter.

The event proved to be extremely engaging and enjoyable: students and teachers participated enthusiastically, asking questions, sharing experiences, and reflecting together on the importance of responsible adoption and preventing the stray animal crisis.
