On vacation with Naxos: this summer you’ll find us at the BI Hotel in Bellaria!
Have you already started dreaming about your vacation?
Summer is finally just around the corner, and with it comes the desire to unplug. But for those of us who live with a dog or a cat, a real vacation is only truly such if experienced together.
Fortunately, Italy is becoming an increasingly attentive country to these needs: from North to South, more and more facilities are emerging that do not simply “accept” animals, but welcome them as true members of the family.
At Naxos, we firmly believe that these moments of relaxation are essential for strengthening the bond with our pets. That is why we have decided to actively support businesses that place animal welfare at the heart of their hospitality.
Why choose a pet-friendly facility?
Spending a vacation in a properly equipped facility means eliminating the stress of separation and enjoying that carefree feeling that only time spent together can provide.
Whether it’s a run on the beach or a nap in the shade, seeing your four-legged friend happy in a new environment is a priceless emotion.
Of course, to ensure everything goes as smoothly as possible, it is important to organize vacations with our friends carefully, paying attention to some small but essential details.
Our tips for a worry-free summer
To help you make the most of your vacation with your pet, here are some practical suggestions to keep in mind:
- Hydration first and foremost: Heat can be deceptive. Make sure your pet always has fresh water available. Do not underestimate the importance of hydration during the hottest months, especially if you spend a lot of time outdoors.
- Avoid the hottest hours of the day: Walks, playtime, and outdoor activities should be concentrated in the early morning or after sunset. Hot pavement can cause burns to paw pads, and excessive heat can lead to heatstroke.
- Prepare a travel bag dedicated to your pet: Organize everything you need in advance: food, bowls, medications, leash, toys, wipes, health documents, and a familiar blanket or bed. Familiar scents help pets feel calmer even in new environments.
- Dietary continuity: While on vacation, the temptation to “spoil” your pet with table scraps is strong, but it is better to maintain their regular habits. Using high-quality products helps avoid unpleasant adverse reactions caused by dietary changes that could ruin your relaxation.
- Sun protection and coat care: Just like us, pets are also affected by sun exposure and saltwater. Always rinse your pet with fresh water after swimming in the sea or spending time on the beach. For dogs with white or light-colored fur, it would be advisable to use pet-friendly sunscreen. Additionally, proper nutrition is the first step in protecting coat and skin health under the sun.
- Do not forget parasite prevention and veterinary checkups: Before departure, make sure your pet is protected from fleas, ticks, and mosquitoes, which are particularly widespread during summer months and in seaside or countryside destinations.
- Always carry health documents with you: An updated veterinary booklet, microchip, and useful contact information are essential, especially if traveling abroad or staying in hotels and tourist facilities.
Naxos and BI Hotel: an example of authentic hospitality
Within the network of facilities we support, this year we are pleased to highlight our collaboration with BI Hotel in Bellaria (Rimini). Here, pet-friendly hospitality has the face of Ghemon, the furry “Director” who welcomes every guest with special warmth.
To demonstrate our support for those who, like BI Hotel, put love for animals first, we have prepared a Naxos Welcome Kit for all the small guests of the facility.

It is our way of saying “welcome” and ensuring that, even far from home, the quality and natural taste of our food are never missing.
What will you find inside our box? We have thought of everything to make the stay delicious and healthy:
- High-quality wet food: for both dogs and cats, emphasizing the importance of complete and balanced wet food to maintain proper hydration under the Romagna sun.
- Natural and balanced recipes: just like the ones you use at home, without chemical additives or artificial flavorings.
- Grain Free and Gluten Free options: ideal even for the most sensitive tummies, helping to avoid unpleasant adverse reactions to gluten that could spoil vacation relaxation.
- Instructions and advice: a small guide to discover all the properties of our food and how to enjoy it at its best.
Choosing a facility that supports animal welfare is an act of love, which is why we look forward to welcoming you to Bellaria for a summer of relaxation, sea, and good food.
Happy holidays to you and your adventure companion!
